About Trattoria Amedeo

The dim lighting and rustic charm inside **Trattoria Amedeo** create a setting that feels both warm and unpretentious, inviting diners to settle in and take their time. While the interior might initially appear modest, the attentive staff quickly bring a sense of ease, balancing courteous efficiency with subtle, friendly interactions. Some visitors browsing through Trattoria Amedeo reviews often highlight this balance between an intimate environment and persistent professionalism, an aspect that noticeably enhances the overall dining rhythm.

A glance at the menu reveals a dedication to traditional Bolognese fare, carefully prepared without unnecessary embellishment. Dishes like tagliatelle al ragù and tortellini in brodo present with hearty flavors grounded in regional authenticity, yet the portion sizes lean toward moderate, which may surprise those expecting more generous servings for the price. While photographs of the food show vibrant plates that reflect seasonal ingredients, the subtle presentation aligns more with comfort than culinary theatrics, emphasizing taste over ornamentation.

Great place, kind friendly personnel, tasty food, big portions. We did not book a table, but were lucky that the personnel found places for us. So it's better to book. Pasta con ragù bolognese was delicious! Risotto with mushrooms was not the best...

It was excellent to get away from the touristy area of Bologna and head towards a more private and local place that had amazing food. The service was great, and I love this area of Bologna. The restaurant was so good that you have to have reservations ahead of time, so be sure to call ahead to enjoy the greatness.

A must try! If you are in Bologna. PS: MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE! We had arrived around 8pm, but it was packed, the waitress asked if we had reservations but we were walkins and to my surprise, all tables were fully booked from Thursday till monday ( shocking ). But the waitress could see that we were really disappointed and kindly suggested if the outside table is fine with us...ofcourse we took it! (Hence didn't have a chance to experience the inside atmosphere) It was quite cold outside, but the waitress setup the table for us real quick and a thorough explanation of the menu and recommendations of local Bologna dishes. (Her English was Fluent, which is another plus) Dishes ordered: -Starter: Speck (fell in love with it from Dolomites) -Tortellini in Brodo -Gramigna alla salsiccia (pork) -Spaghetti alle Vongole -Espresso If your a fan of dry cuts, must try Speck! Love the fragrance and melting texture. Tortellini was quite interesting, a clear warm broth that warmed us up seating outside in the cold; the balance between the tortellini and the broth was well balanced. Oh and adding cheese the more the better lol. Gramigna was outstanding! The ragu sauce was rich in flavor, where the pork meat was adding more flavor to each chew and lastly the texture of Gramigna rounded up all flavors. A new discovery to my taste buds! Vongole was quite savory, the clams were fresh and flavors were soaked well, and the Spaghetti had a good al dente texture and well flavored! Dishes were overall satisfying and I can see why people are booking in advanced...hence us ordering too much at the given chance, but no regrets! Come in a party/group or with real! Empty stomachs, their portions are filling! Service was truly well executed. Eventhough we are sitting outside, the waitress constantly checked on us, asked if we were fine and even suggested to ask the the chef to split the dishes into two portions for us rather than share one plate. NOW that is what I call true service at heart! Overall if your in Bologna, must try Trattoria Amedeo! I am confident that you will leave satisfied both belly and heart! Grazie Mille!

We went here, late into our Bologna trip, with a party of people who had largely been to Bologna before. We just found this place on Google maps because it's close to the Santuario Madonna di San Luca This is undoubtedly the best dining experience we've had in this city. Exceptional food, some of the best house red anyone has ever had, great service, low-key family-run restaurant vibe, and extremely good value. Absolutely cannot recommend more highly enough. Utterly delicious food, plenty of vegetarian options (and for the meat eaters too). Everyone agreed we need to come back!

We loved our meal here. Thankfully, it was mere metres from our apartment, so we might have missed it. A lovely, bright restaurant with a friendly, warm welcome. We were shown straight to the table. (We found Italians in all hospitality to be warm and friendly. Being Irish, we can relate to this). Lovely pasta (wish is was hotter) which we shared. Pasta portions in Italy are HUGE! My wonderful wife has delicious tender rare beef and I had a monster veal escalope. Both were delicious. The wine was, as is usual with Italian wines, perfect. It wasn't expensive at all and in Ireland this would be €30, or more!

Stumbled upon this randomly. Loved it all. Wonderful food. Simple, affordable and extremely tasteful with quality ingredients. Filled with locals, definitely not a tourist trap. Regardless service was amazing. The waitress had great recommandations for us and showed great patience with my attempts to use the 3 words of Italian I know. We had the tortelloni with prosciutto, the lasagnas and the mushroom scallopine ai funghi. Loved having the ability to share entrees and have them split on our plate. 10/10 would go again

Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I’m very glad I did! They were fully booked but very kindly accommodated me at the start of the service. There is no English menu (a good sign) so I just used google translate and worked wonders. Food was amazing. Had pasta with porcini mushroom - perfectly seasoned and cooked with authentic flavours. Highly recommended! If you don’t have booking, I’d suggest come an hour before dinner service to ask if there is a table available or if they can squeeze you in at the start of dinner service - this trick has worked for me over the years travelling in Italy.
